Icicl - Free Icons for Web Design

A few months ago I made the ICE icon theme for the Linux desktop. I realised recently that a lot of these icons could be used for websites too. So I put together the most suitable, touched them up a bit, then made a few more and came up with Icicl - 60 icons for websites. Have a look at the screenshot below.

Icicl Icon Theme

They are all 48x48 png files, but should be easy to convert into gifs or jpgs. I made them using the brilliant Inkscape and can supply the original svg files if anybody is interested.

They are licensed under the MIT License, so completely free to use and modify - it should be easy to change the colour or size of them to suit you purposes.

If you get any use out of them or like the look of them, then I'd appreciate a Good vote for the ICE icons on the Gnome-Look website.

I've since thought of a few more icons that I'd like to add in the future:

  • Shopping Cart
  • Love Heart
  • Calendar
  • User
  • CD
  • Clear
  • Tag
  • Video
  • Calculator
  • Document

If you have any more suggestions or feedback then feel free to get in touch.

Enjoy!

Sams Town by the Killers 5

A great follow up album to their debut, Hot Fuss. Stand out tracks are Read My Mind and Sams Town.

Relaxing Reading

Labrynth by Kate Mosse

Labrynth book cover 3

Good summer reading, very much in the mould of The Da Vinci Code (but better writing). Another search for the grail and another wierd and secretive religous group.

An essential book for any web designer. This shows you how to create common web layouts using standard based layouts and avoid tables. It looks great and is full of priceless info.
